Lacrosse Gear and Equipment
Basic Equipment needs:
Boys K-6th - players must have lacrosse stick, helmet (NO HOCKEY HELMETS), mouth guard, protective cup, shoulder pads, arm pads, cleats, gloves and water bottle.
Girl K-6th - players must have lacrosse stick, goggles, mouth guard, cleats and water bottle. Girls lacrosse helmet optional. There are starter packages and they should get the standard size sticks. You can loosen up the strings a bit and make a pocket. The coaches will aid in this as well.
Notes on equipment:
Your child must be in full gear for every practice and game. Due to liability issues there are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.
PLAX does have a limited supply of equipment that we can loan out to players each season. Most of the equipment we have is for younger boys as they require a lot more gear than the girls do. We tend to have sticks for the younger players (boys & girls) but we do NOT keep a supply of mouthguards or cleats.
Soccer cleats are fine for these age groups. Lacrosse cleats are nice to have but are often tough to find in youth sizes. Check out lacrosseunlimited.com or lax.com as they tend to have the most consistent inventory.
